“Therefore encourage one another and build one another up”
-1 Thessalonians 5:11
Welcome to Saint Luke the Evangelist Catholic Community! We are located in Temple City, California, in the heart of the beautiful San Gabriel Valley. Our church, founded in 1946, has humble beginnings with community and faith at its center. While our church building was under construction, the first Masses were said down the street in a chicken coop. The first parishioners are affectionately known as the "chicken coopers."
Today, the parish is a Catholic community of approximately 1,600 families, over 40 ministries, and a thriving elementary school (TK-8th). The parish remains committed to ensuring that the presence of the Catholic Church and the global virtues of stewardship, service, and fellowship stay strong in our community of Temple City and beyond.
